Did you know that most ranges of stoma. ostomy pouch, bag have this choice. You would need to contact your supplier as to whether the range you use is available in a one or two piece. Then you don’t have to change the range that you are using.
This blog is not about you moving away from the range that as this could upset your skin. Plus why change what is working in regards to the range.
It is about seeing if a two piece is better for you compared with a one piece.
The differences are the flanges, one is part of the pouch, bag (one piece) and a two piece the flange stays on your skin as you just change the pouch, bag. Why is this important? Not removing the flange everyday helps to keep your skin less disturbed? Removing the flange can take off a leer of skin which in turn can cause the skin to become sore.
As we know healthy skin under the flange is so important. In turn it will lead to less likely to have a leak. A good seal between your skin and flange is integral.

The skin underneath is disturbed more often
The cost is the system is more than a two piece. Why? It is the flange that is the most expensive part
Usually changed daily so it becomes a bit more smelly
Two piece pouch, bag
Pros
Easy to change pouch, bag without disturbing your skin
If there is a smelly bag, pouch you can change it in a minute or two.
Having a bigger bag, pouch on a night means that lest time getting up to empty. Who doesn’t love longer time to sleep?
When you are out and about you can simply remove the bag, pouch without the worry of the toilet flushing properly

It can leak from the extra joint
Becoming confident that a flange will last longer
A bit more bulkier than a one piece
It take a bit of time to get used to changing the bag, pouch
